How do I volunteer to help ?
Please fill in the Volunteer Registration form on this web site. Depending on your skill set, please choose a first and second choice of how you think you could help best. Thanks for volunteering !
Can I get credit for high school community volunteer service ?
Yes, there are some volunteer tasks that can be accomplished by students. Please bring Lesley your paperwork to be signed at the end of the event.
Can I still volunteer if I am not sure I can attend ?
Yes. Please check the box marked Just tentative until I confirm my attendance.
When your schedule is confirmed, please click the link in your email confirmation. Then either delete your registration, or modify it by unchecking the tentative box.
Do you need help setting up the show ?
Yes ! Setting up and tearing down the event is a lot of work, made easier with some help. If you can help set up drapery, chairs and tables Friday evening, any of a million things early Saturday morning, or clean up Saturday late afternoon when everyone is tired, it will be immensely appreciated.
Please check the boxes for Friday evening, Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon to let us know you will help.
Do I need experience to volunteer ?
Generally no. Most of the roles are straightforward and information or training is provided as required. Many roles require more than one person, so you will be working with someone who can help you.
There are a few roles, such as pilot, marshaller or photographer that require air side experience. If one of these roles interests you and you have not volunteered at a discovery event before, it is recommended that you volunteer as an escort for a year to see how everything works.
Can I be a Team Leader ?
Yes ! The hardest part about organizing the event is all the work that happens during January, February and March. If you are reliable and can lead a particular aspect of the event, please talk with Lesley.
